POSITION SUMMARY:

The Product Sales Specialist assists the Director of Product Sales and Product Sales Team in the planning, organizing and implementing the council's product sale campaigns, providing support to the service unit product manager in assigned areas; provides administrative support to the product sales function at the direction of the Director of Product Sales.

JOB DUTIES:

Major Accountabilities: 

  • Work with the Director of Product Sales and Product Sales Team in the overall planning and implementation of the council product sales program.
  • Provide support to volunteers in assigned geographic area(s) and the public throughout the campaign and keep staff informed of sale procedures and any areas of concern related to the sale.
  • Facilitate training of product sale policy, practices and procedures for volunteers, staff and the public.
  • Answer, and refer as necessary, telephone calls and emails related to product sales functions and ensures inquiries are responded to within the standard time frame set by the council.
  • Work with the Director of Product Sales and other departments to implement the delivery, reporting and collection process.
  • Prepare and reproduce correspondence, documents, reports, etc. at the direction of the Director of Product Sales.
  • Coordinate activities such as compiling information, handling mailings and arranging meetings.
  • This position requires 15% travel

 QUALIFICATIONS: Required Skills:

  • Satisfactory combination of work and educational experience required.
  • Three years of supervisory work experience in customer service or sales.
  • Bachelor's degree in social sciences, education, or youth development. Minimum of two years experience in volunteer management, program design and implementation preferred.

 Candidate must be able to routinely demonstrate:

  • Strong verbal skills, with experience in public speaking. Able to communicate effectively by phone.
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to read and interpret written information, and edit work for spelling and grammar.
  • Present numerical data accurately and effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Demonstrates ability to resolve conflicts and creatively solve problems.
  • Ability to cultivate individual and collaborative relationships with volunteers, while preserving the professional boundaries necessary to create and maintain effective staff/volunteer relationships.
  • Commitment to diversity and the ability to work effectively with persons of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills. Able to meet deadlines with excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to gather and analyze information and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Computer proficiency, at an intermediate level, in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, some weekends and occasional overnight trips.
  • Access to reliable transportation in order to travel within assigned geographic areas. Proof of insurance, a valid driver's license in good standing, and an acceptable driving record required.
  • Accept the principles of the Girl Scout Movement as expressed in the Girl Scout Promise and Law.

Preferred Skills:

  • Bilingual skills (Spanish)
  • Experience using data management systems such as Salesforce
